  • Guest Satisfaction at Gaylord Opryland
    Despite its outstanding facilities, the largest non-casino hotel in the world, Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A., was having trouble satisfying its guests.  Guests complained of long check-in times and an insensitive staff. The hotel had low customer loyalty scores and the lowest guest satisfaction scores of the three hotels in its chain in 2005 and 2006.  In mid-2006, after five months of preparation, the hotel launched The 4 Disciplines of Execution process.  Within months, the hotel’s customer loyalty and guest satisfaction scores hit new highs, making it the number one hotel in the Gaylord chain.  Improvement in employee performance was evident throughout the hotel. Even after 3 years, the 4 Disciplines process was still keeping scores high.
