  • REDUCING JUVENILE RECIDIVISM

    For several years, Judge Daniel B. Garrett of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, has been sentencing juvenile offenders in his courtroom to read and review with him Sean Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.  The result is that recidivism (repeat offences) rates in his courtroom are 2.5 times lower than the rest of Lancaster County and 3 times lower than some other areas of the state.

  • Roche Transforms its Employees into "Habits People"
    Operating in Brazil since 1931, Roche (pharmaceuticals and diagnostics) constructed an industrial park in Rio De Janeiro in 1978.  The facility has 380 regular employees and 220 contract workers.  In 2005, the company set a goal to transform itself into a new global export center by 2008.  To prepare both management and employees for these upgrades, the company asked FranklinCovey Brazil to start FOCUS training, followed by the 7 Habits of High Effective People.  Ten managers received the training at first, followed by the other employees.  Three employees became certified facilitators.  After two years of implementation, the results have been phenomenal.  Performance evaluations came in well-above normal.  In fact, such high levels of performance were unknown before, and the company is taking great pride in its accomplishment.
